Paris (Day One)

Paris. Saying that simple word, takes your breath away slightly. The city has such a reputation and I know you all have been waiting to find out what this city is really like. Well let me tell you, this stunning city passed the test with absolute flying colours! It is breath takingly beautiful, vibrant yet professional, so here and now but so full of the past, gosh it sounds like I'm describing someone at a funeral! Basically, Paris flipping ROCKS!!!!!

We had a very breif visit unforutanely, but that was just how the trains and accomdation played out. We woke up very early on the first day as we only had today and tomorrow! :( The first attraction we went to was obviously, the tower this city is famous for. The Effiel Tower was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!! Walking round the corner and seeing it in all its glory, was so cool! We decided to walk up to the second story as the queue was much shorter. The climb was actually very good, well I thought it was but Mum...not so much. The view was so great. You could see for miles. On both levels, there were many information boards that we extremely interesting and gave back ground knowledge of the tower. The view from the second tower was even better! The whole city streched out in front of us like a map.

After the Effiel Tower, we walked and walked down the river, through the gardens to the Lourve museum. We didn't go in as the queues were simply to long but it was alovely walk down and it was great to see what Paris is like. We were almost scammed by a woman, who "found" a golden ring on the footpath and said we could have it if we paid her some money. We declined but watched her from a distance. A couple walked past her, and she stooped down to pick up a ring that she had just " found". She then did the exact sme stunt she had pulled on us! Quite hilarious! We walked then to Napoleon's tomb and a war museum for Dad. But then we hit the shops. Champs Elysees. Of course we could not afford to buy anything on this most expensive street but looking was extremely fun.

By now it was time for our night time boat cruise down the river. As we past the Effiel Tower again, we were told that a man had just jumped off. Extreme act of suicide. Very shocking and sad. We proceed to our cruise and were actually early and first in line! Impressed? We sailed down past Notre Dam and it was extremely beauitful! We were out for 15 hours that day so we had a good sleep!
