Today we went to Versailles, the magnificent French palace. One look told us why the french revolution occurred. Describing it as splendid doesn't even touch the surface of this grand palace! It was huge, with extensive gardens and everytime there was a new king and queen, they build a new wing and redecorated all the rooms, till they got to the point where there was too much gold and expensive paintings to decorate over! Everything was big, expensive and grand! We had an audio guide tour which took us round on section of the palace, and that was enough for us! We then trained to Monte Morte, a really funky, arty-farty area of Paris. We took the cable car up to the church and the view of Paris was great. The Effiel Tower really stands out! Everywhere you look, no matter what part of the city you are in, you can see it clearly!
we then had to leave Paris (boo who) :( and caught the overnight train to Munich! The girls liked the train, especially me, but Dad just found the beds about 1m too short!!!
