Hey!
Have had a swell past couple of days, travelling down the west coast of Turkey. Troy was amazing! We had a really good tour guide that really knew the area and history. It was crazy to think that we were standing on 3000 year old paths and that the Trojans had actually walked along them too! It really blows your mind. That was the same with Pammukale and Ephesus.
With our tour in Pammukale we walked through the ruins of an old city that Cleopatra and Ceasar used to visit as it was so amazing! And it really was. Simon loved it. Also in Pammukale was a cliff face made of lime stone, which looked like snow! It had little hot pools in it so the girls paddled in those. It was really great.
Ephesus...well...it was mind blowing! Another old city, this one 3500 years old. These ruins were in such good condition, full buildings and theatres etc. There were complete buildings that you could go into, really, really spectactular. These tours were day tours, we were based in a lovely hotel, called the Rebetika, (fully recommened) in Selcut.
We are in the Greek island of Chios now, spending a relaxing day tomorrow before catching an overnight ferry to Athens tomorrow night.
Hope you are all super duper!
love us xxxxxx
Hi the Taylor6. Well done on getting your trip off to such a great start. Delighted that you enjoyed Beijing. I thought the grass area at Gallipoli was at least the size of a kiwi farmers paddock- obviously not.Hard to believe you are in Greece already. You are doing so well. The photos are great.
